The team explored how to deliver these outcomes more efficiently. We studied simplified Agati collections and focused on panel-based construction methods. This approach offered a way to reduce complexity while maintaining performance.

2: Concept Development Phase

Simplifying materials while improving flexibility

During concept development, the focus shifted to materials and usability. The core dimensions and layouts were proven, so the team concentrated on how to simplify construction without losing durability.

Plastic laminate became the primary material. It provides strong performance, resists wear, and is easy to maintain. PVC edge banding was added to protect edges and extend product life.

Mobility was also addressed early in the process. Many past courtroom projects required casters as a modification. With Grant, mobility is built into the design. Each piece can be specified with or without casters.

The caster detail serves two functions. It allows furniture to move easily between configurations. It also acts as a protective bumper. This feature makes the Grant a flexible solution while helping reduce damage during movement and daily use.

3: Design and Engineering Phase

Designing for durability, shipping, and installation

Design and engineering focused on creating a system that performs well in real environments. The team developed a panel-based construction method that allows each piece to ship flat. This reduces freight costs and makes handling easier during delivery.

Once on site, the furniture is assembled using brackets and clips. These connections provide strong structural support and ensure long term durability. The system is designed to perform in high use educational settings where reliability is critical.
