Durability & Comfort
Courtroom furniture needs to support different styles of use than many other public spaces. For example, there are times when people are only using the seating for 10 minutes and other times that people are sitting for 2 hours. People are coming in and out all throughout the day. And you have to be prepared to provide for every user type by purchasing furniture that will actually last and offering seating that people can sit in for a long time without issue.
First off, durability. Courtrooms are public spaces, so the furniture provided needs to be specifically designed to support heavy use. And as budgets are often limited for courtroom designs (specifically for furniture), it’s important to invest in furniture that won’t need to be repaired or replaced in a couple years. At Agati, we exist to create furniture for public spaces, so this is a top priority for us.
Second, comfort is crucial for courtroom seating. This is part of providing for your community and creating a space that works effectively. Our team focuses on designing chairs and benches specifically for a given task, especially for a unique space like a courtroom.
