“Seldom, if ever, have I written a letter to a company to praise them…. With this writing, however, I do want to compliment you and your entire organization on superb customer service and a terrific product line. From the beginning, Agati did an exceptional job with facilitating the entire process from space utilization to coordinating our needs with the AGATI design team. The colors, textures, style and craftsmanship of your furniture is incredible. To top off our interaction with your company came the installation of the furniture. The installation team and process was exceptional and ahead of schedule. What more can be said! From the moment we opened our study space, students have flocked to the area. We are seeing 95-100% occupancy and I believe a big reason is the comfort and exceptional quality of AGATI Furniture.

Frequently Asked ResLife Questions

When should a university start planning a residence hall furniture project?

Start months ahead of the summer installation window. Try to include designers, architects and the Agati team in the process to adhere to timelines and specs. That timeline covers space planning, finish selection, campus approvals, manufacturing, and delivery scheduled between move-out and move-in. Agati works alongside Residence Life teams, campus planners, and design firms from early programming through installation day, so residence halls are furnished and ready when students arrive. Message an Expert to map a timeline for your project.

What makes furniture durable enough for a residence hall?

Residence hall furniture earns its durability through frame construction, joinery, and materials rated for continuous public use. Agati builds residence hall seating and tables with solid frames that are constructed for many years of high-traffic usage. Every piece is manufactured in the USA and is backed by a 10-year warranty, so the furniture specified for opening day still performs through many classes of students.

Can residence hall furniture be customized to match a school's colors?

Yes. Residence hall furniture can carry campus colors through upholstery, laminate work surfaces, wood finishes, and metal bases. Agati manufactures in the USA, which gives specifying teams a range of textiles, laminates, and wood finishes to work from, plus metal bases in a wide array of finishes to match design concepts. The Cove Carrel adds a range of PET panel colors for accent walls and privacy screens. Custom color matching is available. Campus identity then carries from the lobby through every floor lounge. Message an Expert to review finish options for your residence hall.

Which residence hall furniture options offer integrated power?

Students expect power at every study table, pod, and gathering place. Agati integrates power into tables, study carrels, and lounge seating. The Power Bar lines the worksurface edge with outlets and keeps wiring behind the side panels. The Power Table and Skinny Power Bar bring USB and electrical outlets to study tables and narrow counters. POD Single, Hampton Nook, and Cove Carrel study spaces include access to power. The Power Bar consolidates into one power strip, so it needs only one floor connection. Plan power placement with your electrical drawings during specification.

What furniture works best in residence hall common areas?

A mix of lounge seating, banquettes, and tables serves the most students in residence hall common areas. Gee Curve modular lounge seating wraps around corners and columns to fill a lobby. Hampton Modular banquettes give small groups an upright seat for study and shared meals. Pair seating with Drum occasional tables to keep drinks, laptops, and backpacks within reach. See more options for ResLife Community Lounges & Commons.

Can furniture create private study areas without building enclosed rooms?

Yes. Study pods and carrels define private study space inside an open lounge or reading room. The POD Single combines a seat, worksurface, power, and curved upholstered panels for one student. The POD Duo gives two students a semi-private spot for tutoring or pair work. Hampton Nook carrels use side and back walls to frame a quiet study space. For ADA access, the Pod Carrel offers a curved, partially enclosed workspace. Cove Carrel acoustic panels help dampen noise for users and the surrounding room. Explore layouts for Residential Hall Quiet Study.

Can Agati modify furniture to fit an existing floor plan?

Yes. Agati modifies standard products for dimensions, configurations, materials, and power in existing buildings. Vista Modular Bench segments connect to match the length and shape of a room. Gee Curve seating wraps around corners and columns. POD Duo fits into existing floor plans in clusters, rows, or serpentine layouts. For fully custom pieces Message an Expert to discuss your floor plan.

What should housing teams consider when selecting easy-to-maintain furniture?

Look at three things: cleaning access, replaceable components, and surface materials. The Etta Guest Armchair has push-through clearance for cleaning and a replaceable seat. Vista Modular Bench sits on 5-inch metal legs, so floors stay easy to clean. Choose worksurfaces that handle spills, like the laminate top on the Hampton Nook. Power Bar stone tops provide easy to clean durable surfaces, and side panels remove for wiring access.
